One day Mitch asked me over to the park for a ‘very important conversation’ and I knew what that meant. I hadn’t been in many relationships, more like none, but I knew enough. He thought things weren’t working out and it was over.
“Nadia…” He started.
“Yes?” I asked nervously. I knew what came next. But what I really wanted to know was why.
“Will you be my girlfriend?”
Wait…. WHAT!? Here I was, worrying if it was over, when he wanted to make the next step! I couldn’t believe it!
“Nadia. Are you okay?” He asked, grabbing my hands.
“More than okay!” I exclaimed. “Yes! I’ll be your girlfriend!
Maybe life will turn out good after all! I’ve even gotten a promotion at work. The next day I went to the nightclub to have some fun and I saw a ghost…I think. I’ve been working too many sleepless nights, obviously.
I was still in awe of a ghost in my presence.
“Are you real?” I asked.
“What do you think?”
“I don’t know.”
Mitch called me in the midst of all that and asked if I wanted to be his date to the Romance Festival. I turned back to the ghost and she was gone.
“Did that really happen?” I whispered aloud.
We had a great time together at the festival and the sakura tea is delicious!
“Nadia? Do you like me?” he asked.
“Of course I like you.”
“I mean like-like.”
“Yes. I like-like you a LOT….” Oh my plumming gosh… did I really just say that? I looked back up at him through my glass.
“Me too.” He said to me.
We couldn’t help but feel flirty after drinking it, or perhaps that conversation…
“Hey…” I started.
“Yes?” He asked.
“Do you want to move in with me?” I blurted out, then gasped and tried to maintain my cool. I just so happened to say crazy things around him.
“Yeah. I’d like that,” he grasped my hands, “a lot.”
“I..uh..don’t have much.” I whispered reluctantly.
“I don’t care, Nadia. I love you and that’s all that matters.”
“YES. I can’t wait.”
