Chapter 1.24: New Love, Old Love: Part 1

There was an idea that I’d been playing around with for a while. But now it was kinda now or never.

“Mitch?”

“Yes?”

“So what would you think about renewing our vows?”

“I would think it was a great idea.”

“So…”

“Yes, Nadia, I’d love to do it.”

I even knew the perfect place, this new wedding venue that just opened up. I know we were old, but it would be perfect. We’d get the wedding we never had.

“Now, Nadia,” Mitch whispered, “let’s get ready for our ‘big day’…”

“And how exactly are we doing that?”

Told you we still got it…

We walked up to the venue and it was like 10 times more beautiful than the pictures.

“Wow, it’s better than I thought,” I said, “and I already thought it was amazing.”

“Pictures are never accurate.”

“Sometimes,” I almost whispered, looking around, that’s a good thing.”

“It’s perfect.”

A lot of people were around, this was a hot new place…even though it’s meant for weddings. Selena and Jonathan immediately went to dance.

“So, it’s just us.” Mitch whispered to me, standing under the arch.

“Yeah. It is.”

“Nadia Lexi Clemonte, you have been the light of my life. You mean the world to me. You gave me our children, and they are perfect, you are perfect. I couldn’t imagine anyone better than you that I could possibly have spent my life with. You made me enjoy every day of my life, and I will do so until I die. I love you so much.”

After all these years, he still makes me cry.

“Well, you said everything.” I said, joking, but trying not to full on break down here.

“Really?”

“No, gosh, no. Mitchell Clemonte, I honestly don’t have the words for how much I love you. You have given me so much. Raising our kids has been a challenge at times, but you were always there with me. I got so so lucky to have met you, to have fallen in love with you, and for you to love me back. I will love you forever. You are amazing, and I couldn’t have a better husband.”

“I love you, Nadia. May I kiss the bride?”

I smiled. “Of course!”
