Chapter 2.15: I’m Telling Now

I called Annalise the next week. With everything that’s happened, I kinda forgot to tell her, you know, everything… We haven’t talked since I graduated, actually. She’s still my best friend, so I wondered what had happened with her since we last talked.

“Hey! So what’s up?”

“That’s actually what I wanted to talk to about.”

“Oh really?”

“But how about you go first, Annalise?”

“Fine. I hosted the hit party of the year and it was amazing. But everyone left all their plates and stuff strewn around everywhere. Someone was even watching the news. Like seriously? Anyway, you?”

“Well, umm… I dated a guy…” I went into full detail about me and the plumhead. She couldn’t believe it. I still couldn’t either.

“Sel, I’m so sorry. He is a total plumhead. You’ll find someone better than him…hopefully.”

“Sorry, can’t help it if I sometimes see the worst!”

“Yeah. And on top of that my brother and his wife had twins, a girl and a boy…and my Mom died…”

“Oh Watcher! My aunt Candy died, but my Mom hasn’t yet.”

Talking with Annalise was just what I needed. I knew I needed to tell Jonathan and Yumiko the truth about what really happened with the plumhead…

“Hey guys, can I tell you something?” I asked once the twins were asleep.

“Ok, so I’m not engaged anymore…me and Ramon…we broke up. It was a few days before the twins were born and I didn’t want to say anything…” I really didn’t want to tell them, but I did. I didn’t go full detail like I did with Annalise…but they got the idea.

I didn’t have anything else to say so I calmly walked upstairs, went in my room, locked the door, and cried. I tried to pretend it didn’t happen, but it did. And I would never be the same.

  1. Annalise is hilarious and I hope that I will see more of her now that she’s an adult. Also, I’m glad that Selena finally told someone about Ramon.

    1. LOL yes Annalise! She was in more chapters when Selena was a kid. I’m debating whether to bring Annalise’s daughter into the story *now* in generation 3….

  2. I didn’t realize she hadn’t told anyone about Ramon yet! Good for her for getting it off her chest, it would have been a shitty weight to carry for a while.

  3. Well, talking is therapeutic. It helps sharing your pain with others. She’ll find someone else eventually, I’m sure of it!
