“Hey, Selena. We…we want to tell you something.” Yumiko told me.
“Yeah, sure.” I followed her and Jonathan into their room.
“Look, when you said that you heard us…at night… I realized we were hiding things.”
“No. No. It’s you two’s personal life. You don’t have to tell me anything. It’s ok.”
“Selena. We want to tell you.” Jonathan added.
“It’s so-so-so hard… to think about telling someone. But at the same time… it feels good to know someone else knows.” Yumiko said, choking up.
“You don’t have to. But if you are going to, I’m here for you guys, you’re family.”
“Thank you,” Yumiko said, “thank you.” She wiped away her tears. “Jonathan, can you?”
“Yeah, honey.” He put his arm around her. “Selena, we’ve wanted another child for a few years… and it hasn’t been happening for us. We’ve been trying to get pregnant for 7 months…. and 4 years.”
Oh my Watcher. I don’t know what to say. “Guys… I don’t know the right words.”
“It was so easy the first time.” Yumiko whispered, “and now…”
“I believe it will happen for you two.”
Life was so complicated. It really was. Everyone tells you about their happy endings, but not how they got there. In this world, you’re not supposed to show your flaws, your imperfections. And yet, nobody’s perfect…nobody…but we’re supposed to be. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side after all.
A/N: This was a short chapter (only 1 picture) but sometimes big things come in small packages, right?
