Kiara approached me just after I got home from work.
“Hey. I packed up all my stuff. I’ll be leaving tomorrow.” I smiled at her. It was hard to believe she was the same girl who used to go out each night. “Ok. Are you sure?”
“Yeah. It’s a nice place, for the price.” She ran her hand through her hair. “I think Chloe and I will like it there.”
It was good timing, really. Mason had grown up into a child earlier today. It would be much easier to take care of them now. I was surprised the girls accepted their brother, and actually talked to him. I’d gotten along really well with my brother when we were kids, but Addie and Lexie just seemed that they had each other, and they weren’t interested in adding someone else into the mix. They aren’t best friends with him, but at least they aren’t fighting!
“Mama, can I invite some of my friends over?” Addie asked.
“Yeah, sure!” I was glad that Addie had so many friends. I know you really only need one, but she had a lot. Lexie said that Addie was ‘popular’. I remember those girls, the ones with a lot of friends. I hope that Addie doesn’t turn out to be mean, like some of the girls I remember.
Since all the kids went to school all day, I had time to write more. I always thought I’d be a bestselling author one day, but life happened. I was surprised how easily writing was coming back to me. I’d finish a book before long!
