Chapter 2.48: Daughters

Adelaide’s a teenager now. I was amazed how gorgeous my daughter grew up to be. 349:03-27-18.jpg

Watcher, she’s a teenager. She’s going to high school.

“You are not wearing that out.”

“Seriously, mama? Girls wear less than this!”

“How is that possible?”

In the middle of this, Lexie and Mason were in a full blown fight.

“Addie, I’ll be right back.” I could leave my teenage daughter alone, but I swear Lexie and Mason were ready to bite each other’s heads off. “Guys, stop!”

“Shut up!” Lexie yelled. “I’m in the middle of something here!”

“Lexie Eva Clemonte, you don’t talk to me like that!”

“Here, I changed! Happy now?”

“Yes, Addie.”

Even with Addie’s… annoyance about her clothes, I mean, what teenage girl doesn’t care about clothes, she was full of surprises. She got a job working at a clothes store, a job. She had a job. I didn’t have a job when I was a teen. She was mature for her age.

“We’re going to the park.” Addie said. Oh, but she was still a teenager. It wasn’t ‘could we’ go to the park, it was ‘we are’ going.

“Sure.” Why shouldn’t we go? They were kids. I’d gone to the park so many times when I was growing up.

“Addie, who are you looking at?” I asked. The whole time we’d been here, she’d been staring at a group of teenagers. She quickly snapped her head back to me and Lexie, looking fully freaked out for a second before her face turned neutral.

“Uh, don’t you see that cute boy?”  It looked like she was looking right past me, trying to keep calm. But, I’d never seen her in love before.

“I see him, Addie!” Lexie exclaimed.

I watched her expression change to one of relief. “Yeah, see? Even Lexie sees him.”

“I’m gonna go ask her if he’s…uh, available?” Addie said, walking away. I turned back to Lexie.

“So, Lexie, he’s cute?”

Oh Watcher. Lexie was already into boys? Addie never even mentioned one until today.

I watched her talk to this girl. Wow, she was already talking to her friends about boys.

“Hey, mama?”

“Yeah, Lexie?”

“That girl isn’t Addie’s friend.”

“Really? Are you sure?”

“Yeah! I know all of her friends!”

I really doubted that Addie would tell her little sister who all her friends were.  “Ok, Lexie.” Every teenage girl had secrets. I remember when I was one.

A/N: So we only have one more chapter in Selena’s generation! It’s been a long ride, hasn’t it? 🙂
