Hi. I’m Adelaide, but everyone calls me Addie. I’ve got big plans for our family, and my future. I’m gonna bring this family into the spotlight. We’re a legacy family, we’re not just any other family. We should be known. There’s something else I have to tell you. I’m a lesbian… and I have a girlfriend. Wow. I’ve never seen that written out before.
Her name is Georgia. Mama doesn’t really know she exists. I haven’t told anyone. My girlfriend, though, she’s out. She’s the hottest girl in school, and all the boys in school thought so too, so when she came out as a lesbian last year, they were pretty disappointed. I know Mama wouldn’t kick me out or anything, but I’m not ready. There was point I thought of telling her, but a lot was going on and…she didn’t need something else changing. Even Lexie is noticing boys. That day at the park, when I was staring at my girlfriend, and I just said ‘that cute boy’ Lexie agreed! I didn’t even notice him, I didn’t even know who I was pointing at, but Lexie did! I want to say she’s too young to notice boys (or girls) but she isn’t. Her birthday is only in a few days, and she’ll be joining me at Coastal High, our high school. It’s so weird to think of her as a teenager.
